An Equitable Music Sector in Finland by 2040
How do shared goals regarding gender equality and non-discrimination create space for new norms and ways of thinking? In his presentation, Tomi Rantanen — a researcher at Aalto University and lead of the Equal Futures in Music project — turns his gaze toward a different kind of future. He discusses the vision for the music industry in 2040, the nature of power and its various forms, and the concept of gatekeeping. The session concludes with a discussion involving the audience.
