Fandom and its future are topics of discussion across all cultural and business sectors where communities lie at the heart of operations. This session brings together two worlds — football and music — that are consumed, discussed, and lived out passionately within fan communities. We will hear brief introductory insights into the world of football, specifically women’s football, from the perspectives of both a researcher and a former player turned professional board member. These insights will be discussed from the viewpoint of music fan communities, followed by a conversation on key trends and future directions. Our goal is to foster a mutual exchange of ideas and lay the groundwork for future collaborations aimed at development. This program is inspired by the upcoming "Future of Fandom" research project within Tampere University’s Experience Economy program.
