Safer Space in Music x Media
Music x Media and Lost In Music want to offer their audience, visitors, employees, volunteers, students, partners, and speakers a safe and communal atmosphere.
If you feel unsafe or you experience or witness inappropriate behaviour during the event, we ask you to inform a security personnel or the equality and harassment contact person of the event.
Possible harassment cases or inappropriate behaviour is taken very seriously. Even in the most serious cases it is possible to get various kinds of help and support and no one will be left alone - considering the case we also guide towards further assistance and support.
In case of a crisis, we offer psychosocial first aid.
We recognise the sunflower lanyard which signals a hidden disability.
Everyone is responsible for their own behaviour and we expect everyone attending the event in any role to commit to follow the safer space principles of Music x Media 2025 and to respect the values of the event.
SAFER SPACE PRINCIPLES
- Respect personal space and autonomy.
- You can not know the boundaries of another person without asking: do not touch without permission, and feel free to ask for space for yourself when needed.
- Communicate respectfully. Speak to and about others with respect.
- Refrain from making assumptions based on appearance or behaviour, such as about sexuality, gender, ethnicity, values, or health.
- Make space. Be mindful of others' opportunities to participate in discussions with their own opinions.
- Respect others' privacy boundaries and handle sensitive topics delicately.
- Listen and learn. We can all discover new interests and perspectives from one another. Be open to finding something new.
- Apologize if you have offended others, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
- Intervene. We encourage you to contact the equality and harassment contact person, security personnel, or a member of staff if you notice behaviour that contradicts our values and principles.
Each Lost In Music venue has their own safer space principles based on their values and we encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with them as well.
