Music x Media

The program of Fresh! by Music x Media, held on Saturday, October 5th at the Tampere Hall, continues with an afterparty! The afterparty is organized in collaboration with the City of Tampere’s Youth Services at the Youth Cultural Center Monitoimitalo 13 in downtown Tampere. The evening is titled Stage 13 Goes Fresh!

Monitoimitalo 13 is a cultural center operated by the City of Tampere’s Youth Services, offering diverse leisure activities and hobby opportunities for both young people and adults. The center hosts both open and guided activities, workshops, events, courses, and rental spaces.

At the afterparty, there will be an opportunity to explore the various facilities and activities of the Youth Cultural Center. The event includes an open house at the center’s studio and Ableton Live jam sessions at Pajasto’s music and media workshop. In the crafts section, participants can create album cover graphics using different techniques and designs, for example, their own band’s logo.

Additionally, there will be two workshops led by performing artists. Hannes Kett, known from the band Shiraz Lane, will conduct a workshop titled ”Finding Your Own Sound and Working in a Band,” where Kett will discuss important themes that have helped him in his career and in working with his band. In the evening’s second workshop, artist Ida Alex will lead a session titled ”Clarifying Your Own Artistic Identity – What’s Your Thing?” Pre-registration is required for the workshops. The workshops are in Finnish.

The evening concludes with Stage 13 performances featuring fresh bands SCENE, Sarama, E.E.Sekopoltsit, and Kiertorata. Stage 13 is an event concept designed for young people, where young artists and bands can perform with low barriers to entry. The performances are open to the public and will also be streamed on the Nuorten Tampere YouTube channel.

”It’s wonderful to be part of this new event collaboration, which offers a great opportunity for young people to deepen their knowledge of the music industry, and all for free! At the same time, we provide visibility for young bands and unforgettable experiences for participants through concerts and workshops,” says Milka Uusitalo, Cultural Producer for the City of Tampere’s Youth Services.
