The famous Swedish photographer Torleif Svensson was commissioned to document Queen’s last tour by Brian May and manager Jim Beach. How the connection was created and resulted in this unique exhibition, is a fascinating story. We all have a special relation to Queen. The band created a category of its own, published more than 40 albums and has until today sold more than 300 million records worldwide. Queen will continue to be a source of inspiration for creative industries.
The exhibition will be exclusively open for Music x Media conference delegates from 4th to 6th of October. The exhibition will open for public on Saturday the 7th at 12.00 and be open until October 31st.
The new and fresh exhibition consists of 30 large photographic fine art prints, featuring Queen’s flamboyant and mind-blowing live performances around Europe. The pictures are also made available in 100-page high quality book for those interested.
These photos have not been exhibited in Finland before. Queen – The Last Tour by Torleif Svensson has been earlier exhibited in Halmstad, Stockholm and Gothenburg in the legendary Post Hotel space and in Sweden’s prestigious The Photo Gallery. Smaller exhibition has also visited Fotografiska in Tallinn.
Torleif’s philosophy is charity, and the exhibition is free of charge for visitors. Books and limited editions of fine art prints are available for purchase and the profit will be donated to charity related to AIDS research. Torleif Svensson of Artvox will donate 1 picture for auction during the Music x Media Event. The income will be fully donated to charity.
The exhibition is made possible in partnership with corporate sponsors, Tampere Hall, Visit Tampere, The Embassy of Sweden in Finland and Music x Media.
