Special expert, Arts Promotion Centre Finland
Salla Mistola is a music specialist at the Art Promotion Centre Finland. She works as a presenter for the State Music Committee, Varsinais-Suomen Art Committee and Satakunta Art Committee. Mistola is particularly interested in the development and management of communities in the arts and culture sector, as well as the means offered by cultural policy in managing change.
Mistola has a master’s degree in philosophy and cultural producer YAMK. Previously, she worked, among other things, with the art and culture grants of the city of Helsinki, as well as executive director of a contemporary dance group and marketing manager of vos theater.
The Art Promotion Center (Taike) is an expert and service agency for art promotion. Taike’s mission is to promote art nationally and internationally. The promotion of culture is also one of Taike’s tasks, but only to the extent that it is not the task of any other authority. Taike and its related art commissions and boards distribute grants to professional artists and grants to communities in the art field – a total of approximately 40 million euros annually.
