Mikko Kuustonen (b. 1960) is a Helsinki-based songwriter, performing artist and tv personality. He has published 13 solo albums and multiple collaborations. During his career, Kuuston has been awarded the Golden Venla and Emma Prize as well as the Finnish Innovation Fund Honorary Award. Six of his albums have sold gold and two platinum. Kuustonen’s best-known songs include “Aurora”, “Taivas varjele”, “Kaktusviinaa” and “Enkelit lentää sun uniin”. His autobiographical book Omaelämäkarta came out in 2022.
In the previous years, Kuustonen has been focusing on lecturing, work community training and tv work through his own company Medicine Man Oy.
In addition, Kuustonen has actively promoted human rights by writing, lecturing and producing tv documentaries about developing countries. He has also worked as the UN Goodwill Ambassador.
Mikko Kuustonen has two daughters, Iina and Minka, who are both actresses. Kuustonen is married to a choreographer Hanna Brotherus.
