With his 25+ years of experience operating at the cutting edge of digital media, Cliff Fluet advises companies globally on their legal and commercial strategies. After qualifying as a lawyer at a global law firm CMS, Fluet became an in-house counsel at Warner Music, while also working as an Industry Secondee at the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Later on, he became the Legal Director and Company Secretary at Capital Radio PLC (now known as Global Radio).
In 2006, Fluet was asked to join Lewis Silkin LLP as a Partner, and is now the Joint Head and founder of its Media & Entertainment Group. As part of Media & Entertainment Group’s ‘Creators, Makers & Innovators’ division, Fluet specializes in digital media, brand entertainment, technology, and innovation. Fluet sits on Lewis Silkin’s board, where he is responsible for the law firm’s innovation and new business models. He also leads the firm’s solutions offering to internal and external clients.
Fluet has been named as a leader and expert in his field by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, while the Media & Entertainment group at Lewis Silkin is ranked as ‘Tier 1’ by Legal 500. Fluet is, furthermore, a regular contributor to Music Business Worldwide, a visiting lecturer at Berklee College of Music, and a regular speaker at conferences globally on a variety of timely issues in the industry.
