Catherine Lefebvre holds a master in Philosophy from the University of Paris I, Sorbonne, a Master of Arts in History of Ideas from the University of Aarhus, Denmark and has obtained two scholarships from New York University.
She was granted the grades of knight and officer (2019) of the French Ordre National du Mérite.
From 2009 to 2019, Catherine Lefebvre worked as director of the Karen Blixen Museum, instigating international collaborations and exploring the work of Karen Blixen in regards to identity, language and global context, amongst others publishing ”Karen Blixen: Thule – Ngong, aller et retour” in Europe, Revue littéraire mensuelle and “Accidental Tourists: Some thoughts on Blixen, Arendt and Disobedience” in Scandinavica. Catherine worked with identifying how to curate and show literature in the best way, and lectures on these topics on a regular basis.
Catherine Lefebvre since 2021 works as project manager for Art Music Denmark in Copenhagen, and as a free-lance curator and writer. Art Music Denmark is the Danish, national genre organization for contemporary, classical music as well as sound art. The project STATUS has proved to be of great importance for understanding the interaction between the Nordic scenes, and has already created a sustainable network in the Nordics.
